The 444 Classic is a limited edition recording channel strips from the legendary Quad Eight Electronics.

The 444 Classic channel strip EQ section includes an original factory restored, 70’s 4-band quasi-parametric eq with separate controls for gain, frequency and Q on each band, with peaking and shelving positions selectable on high and low bands. Two selectable frequencies are available for both High and Low pass filters.

    Does the 444 Classic channel strip have a Q8 preamp? If so, which one? If not, what is in there?

    The 444 Classic strip uses the QE MP-227 all discrete transformer coupled preamp. Originally designed in the early 70,s as a utility preamp and summing/boost amp card, its design is used in many of the most famous and respected QE music consoles around the world. The 227 preamp is also available as a DIY kit for converting QE CA-127, 127a and 137 utility amp cards into a factory approved version of the MP-227 preamp.
